FAREWELL COOKOUT FOR PASTOR RICK AND CINDY
6/14/26
Hey, y’all. Hope you’re enjoying your summer so far…
This Sunday is the
FAREWELL COOKOUT FOR PASTOR RICK AND CINDY
We will have the cookout for the Pierces following worship. Joe Pokorny and crew will grill hamburgers and hotdogs, and sides will be provided by the congregation. It will be a special time of fellowship and we will present our gift to the Pierces at that time.
*****SPECIAL NOTE*****
Pastor Binu’s first Sunday will be July 19 instead of July 12.
We will have a luncheon for him and his family at a later date, TBD.
Let’s pray for their safety and blessing, as they will be traveling to India for the first time in THIRTEEN YEARS to see family,
who has never met their son, Kadmiel!
Next 2nd Sunday Breakfast will be the ACTUAL Second Sunday in July (7/12), since we will no longer have a luncheon that day.
Breakfast will be after worship until we return to our fall schedule of two services, September 13, in order to encourage more people (especially visitors) to attend.

MISSIONS AND OUTREACH
Daily Bread/Meals on Wheels
PUMC will begin delivering meals to Menard County residents who are part of the Daily Bread/Meals on Wheels program
on Wednesday, July 1st. Volunteers pick up hot meals at 11 am and deliver them to recipients in and outside Petersburg city limits.
Please see the attached calendar for more info and dates.
It is in the church vestibule for sign-up.
You can also call the church office, 217-632-7689.
Please sign up by June 28th.
Bluejay Fuel
PUMC is beginning a new partnership with Menard County Family Collaborative, Menard Caring and PORTA school district in an endeavor called Bluejay Fuel. The purpose of this program is to help insure that children in our community are fed. Eligible families will receive shelf-stable food donated and bagged by volunteers on a weekly basis to alleviate hunger. One of the things PUMC is doing is acting as a storage facility for overflow of items from PORTA Central. We can also donate food, funds, time and used grocery bags to support this effort.
Just as importantly, we can pray specifically for our families who are struggling to feed their children.
See the attached Bluejay Fuel insert for more information. More details will follow as they become available.
YOSM Camps & VBS
YOSM camps will be held July 5-9 and 12-17. Vacation Bible School, which will be at PUMC this year, will be July 6-9 and will be one of the mission projects our Jr. High campers will help with. If you would like to register for Mission Camp or VBS, forms are available at PUMC or you can register online at petersburgchurch.com/your-obedient-servant-ministry or our Facebook page: Your Obedient Servants Mission Camp.
Questions? Contact Susie Pokorny, 217-502-2365 or Ashly Allen, amasten5@gmail.com
Also, there is a sign-up sheet in the church vestibule for those who would like to contribute snacks or food for meals during the two weeks of Mission Camp.

WELCOME!
The word “church” might be a noun, but at PUMC we also consider it a verb! We don’t just go to church here. We extend our hands out to our community, our region, and even internationally from our mission camps offered here at the church, mission trips, Operation Christmas Child, feeding the homeless and equipping apartments for single moms at the Mercy House in Springfield, and so much more!
Join us here for the journey of your lifetime!
